Before security forces stormed and sanitised Dera Sacha Sauda's Sirsa headquarters in Haryana, India Today got access to Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's empire.
Spread over about 800 acres, the headquarters of the controversial cult sect houses luxury hotel, spas, villas, lavish restaurants, educational institutions, markets, hospital, private stadium, etc.
A walk inside the premises of the Dera, which calls itself a spiritual organisation, makes one feel inside a luxury resort with all amenities for leisure.
After Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was jailed for 20 years for raping 2 disciples, the Dera headquarters, once symbolising the lavish lifestyle of the 'Baba of bling', now resembles a deserted look.
The Dera campus has buildings designed like replicas of iconic buildings like Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal.
