Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu have teamed up for a psychological thriller, Missing.
The trailer for Mukul Abhyankar's suspense thriller, Missing, takes a familiar path. This is an agent (Annu Kapoor) who investigates a case of kidnapping by asking all the difficult questions to the parents (Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee).
Their daughter Titli is kidnapped when her parents are having sex in another room. But does love really dominate their comparison? The character of Kapoor does not think so. He considers everyone as a suspect, including the mother, father and the third wheel, who may be the brains behind the kidnapping.
The idea of abducting a toddler is heartbreaking. Warming him up with an extramarital affair from his father (as suggested by the last moments of the trailer) is an unpleasant development. But to reach a conclusion before the film unfolds before us, it would be an injustice for the writer and the director.
Given that it has a set of experienced actors such as Kapoor, Tabu and Bajpayee, we can hope that they populate the film because of the potential of the scenario and not just to let the film pass.
Missing is a co-production of Abundantia and Neeraj Pandey in collaboration with Sri Adhikari Brothers, Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Manoj Bajpayee Productions. It is planned to release on April 6 with Abhinay Deo's black comedy Blackmail.
