Evil Dead 2 Is Dead
After shaking a lot of hands, the remake of Evil Dead turned out to have a lot to do with nothing. Most people liked it, some hated it with a passion, and the mainstream usually liked it. The Ghost House Productions at Sony seemed less about getting a big horror from the public and more about finding the best way to make a good profit in Hollywood. The quality of the different productions of Ghost House confirms it.
The other problem to consider is that Dead Dead 2: Dead By Dawn is a huge step forward from the original in different ways, and it would be even more overwhelming for Fede Alvarez or another director. It's not like Halloween II, where Rob Zombie perfected his own movie, but also made a new version of the 1981 non-classic sequel of the same name.
