Anupam Kher plays Dr. Manmohan Singh in the film version of Sanjaya Baru's book, The Accidental Prime Minister, and Twitter has a burning question: will the film have a dialogue? - and a fervent wish - that it will happen. During his decade as Prime Minister, from 2004 to 2014, Dr. Manmohan Singh was criticized for his extreme restraint.
Much admired as a politician of rare trick and unusual integrity, Dr. Singh was also blamed for his silence and perceived passivity in the face of corruption scandals - such as the 2G specter - that marked his tenure .
It seems, at a glance from Twitter this morning, when the Accidental Prime Minister was a trend, that Dr. Singh is best known for his inability to speak.
